Horizons Without Borders

June 16 to 3 July 2019

“Horizons Without Borders” was created in response to the growing bigotry, racism and paranoia evident in the Trump administration and eminating across right wing politics globally. The paintings focussed on the inability of horizons to be constrained by artificial barriers. The works showed the lack of definition or line at horizons in a range of environments.

FOUR PAINTERS

26 February to 14 March

“…Group show by Jo Dalgety, Cath Williams, Karenna Mollard and Suzanne Vesty. While the work of all four women falls loosely under the umbrella of ‘abstract’, Jo’s and Cath’s paintings are landscape based, Karenna’s work is hard-edged and geometric, and Suzanne’s more organic and expressionistic.”

Two Homes

25/6- 12/7/2017

In 2017, Cath had a very well received exhibition of 13 works at the Northart Gallery in Northcote, Auckland.

“Two Homes” was started while in Australia where Cath was influenced by the ever present threat of fire and the rugged beauty of the coast and mountains around Victoria.

Returning home created a predictable response, as the greens and softer hazy hues, came to the fore in her work.

Cath maintains her connection with her two homes and continues to find a surprising degree of commonality in her landscapes many of which are indistinguishable regards their origins, both being impacted upon by the relationships with the owners of the land, diversity, politics and climate change.
